10-Day Certification Training
Beyond Talk Therapy: Direct Processing of Trauma and Triggers
Clinical Resource Therapy Certification Program
What if you stopped talking about the problem and started talking to it?
Most therapies treat the whole person, but usually, only one part is stuck. In this 10-day training, you learn to address that part directly.
Your Professional Advantage
Whether you integrate this into your current practice or use it as a standalone method, it provides a level of depth that defines a specialist. You move past the stage of "trying out ideas" and enter a systematic professional framework.
The Systematic System You will work with a professional manual containing specific protocols. This structure allows you to lead sessions smoothly and stay focused, even with complex cases. It is the difference between guessing and knowing your next step.
Applications are open. Find details at the bottom of the page.

What is Resource Therapy?
Most talk therapies spend a lot of time speaking about problems. Resource Therapy (RT) takes a different path: it works directly with the part of the personality that holds the issue. Our psyche consists of various "States"—and often, only one of them is blocked while the rest of the client remains stable.
In comparison to surface-level methods that often stagnate when facing stubborn patterns, RT offers clinical precision. While other approaches lose time in lengthy analysis, you organize inner resources exactly where the blockage sits. This saves time and protects your energy as a therapist.
Fields of Application: Anxiety and panic, trauma (PTSD), depression, eating disorders, addiction, burnout, psychosomatic issues, grief, and low self-esteem.
The Perfect Integration Are you already working with EMDR, IFS, or Ego State Therapy? RT is the perfect evolution of these approaches. It fills the gaps that often appear when dealing with complex trauma or dissociation, making your interventions more fluid and reliable.
What you gain as a student
A Systematic Map: You receive a professional manual with specific agendas and protocols. This takes the guesswork out of your sessions and gives you a clear structure to follow.
Clinical Confidence: By knowing exactly how to identify and address the specific "State" in distress, you can handle complex cases smoothly without feeling overwhelmed.
Operational Depth: You move from general counseling to a specialized approach. Whether you use this as a standalone method or integrate it into your current practice, you gain a reliable system for deep transformation.
Resolving the Trigger
How to Facilitate Deep Internal Change
In many therapy methods, trauma is discussed, "held," or stabilized. In Resource Therapy, we go further: we don't just open the trauma and talk about it—we process it.
By working directly at the ISE (Initial Sensitising Event) and utilizing the SEM (Sensory Experience Memory), you enable a permanent shift in the client’s internal system.
Direct Work, Not General Talk: Imagine you consist of many different parts. When something happens to one of these parts, it stores that experience. This is why it is essential to work directly with the affected part—rather than with all the other parts that aren't even involved in the problem.
Managing the "Cockpit": You likely know some of your parts already. They show up in daily life, especially when you are triggered. The moment something happens, an old anger might suddenly be there, reacting without thinking. When that part later retreats, you might wonder: "What happened to me?" In that moment, a different part has already taken over the "cockpit."
The Shift in Control: After the intervention, the child part or the traumatized part is no longer acting out or stuck in the cockpit. Instead, it is cared for by the client’s own resource parts.
The Practical Result: When the client encounters a former trigger after the session, the "old" part no longer takes the wheel. The adult parts can handle the situation calmly, while the previously distressed part remains safe and supported in the background.
A Systematic Approach
The States
In Resource Therapy, we distinguish exactly which state a personality part is in.
Vaded States: Parts overwhelmed by intense emotion or trauma.
- Vaded with Fear: Stuck in panic or terror.
- Vaded with Rejection: Feeling deeply rejected or worthless.
- Vaded with Confusion: Disoriented or mentally "foggy."
- Vaded with Disappointment: Carrying hopelessness.
Retro States: Outdated defense mechanisms.
- Retro Original: Persistent destructive patterns (e.g., anger or control).
- Retro Avoiding: Protection through withdrawal or avoidance.
Conflicted States: Trapped between opposing needs.
Dissonant States: Active at the wrong time or in the wrong place.

Resource Therapy Glossary
Resource State A part of the personaity or a "resource." When we repeatedly rely on a coping strategy during childhood, the brain grows in response to this stimulation. The combination of axon and dendrite growth, along with trained synaptic impulses, creates a physiological Resource State—a personality part with the intellectual and emotional qualities that were utilized during its formation.
Conscious When we are currently living life from a specific Resource State, it is referred to as being "Conscious." While one state is conscious, others may observe (Observing), which is common with surface states and indicates strong synaptic connections. Non-observing states form the Subconscious.
Introject An introject is an internalized impression held by a Resource State (of people, animals, or objects). Most introjects are positive. However, if a state stores fear, rejection, or disappointment regarding an introject, that state becomes "Vaded." The goal of therapy is the transformation (empowerment) of Vaded States in relation to their introjects. This does not mean changing the memory, but recognizing that an internalized impression has no power in the here and now.
Internal vs. External Fear External fear is a necessary protection against real dangers. Internal fear, however, is limitless and relates to introjects from the past. Since introjects are history, they cannot harm us. Resource Therapy supports the empowerment of states with negative impressions to gain safety and support.
Changing Chairs Introject Action An activity to reduce confusion regarding an introject. The client imagines the essence of the introject on an empty chair, speaks to it, and then switches positions to answer as the introject. This often leads to deep understanding.
Conflicted States Resources that are in conflict with each other to such an extent that psychological stress arises. While differing opinions are normal, Conflicted States reach a distressing level of stress.
Dissonant States A Resource State that is in the Conscious at the wrong time or in the wrong place.
Resource Personality Theory This theory assumes that the personality consists of separate parts (Resources). The direct path to change is working with the affected state, rather than merely speaking about the problem intellectually.
Imagery Check After an intervention, the original image from the Vivify Specific Action is recalled to check the effectiveness of the work, provide the client with security, and practice future behavior.
Intellectual Protector States These parts protect the personality from the emotions of Vaded States through intellectualization. They often try to block the "bridging" to the affected Vaded State.
Initial Sensitising Event (ISE) An emotionally distressing event that overwhelmed a normal resource and turned it into a Vaded State.
Normal States Resources in a psychologically healthy condition. They function well, are not in conflict, and carry no psychological distress.
Protector States Therapeutic resistance is caused by protectors who want to prevent fragile Vaded States from taking over the conscious. They use anger, withdrawal, or intellectualization as a distraction.
Retro Avoiding States These states keep the conscious occupied to avoid the experience of a Vaded State. Examples include addictive behaviors (gambling, eating), compulsions, or self-harm. They believe their role is more important than the disapproval of other parts.
Retro Original States States that learned a functional coping strategy in childhood that is no longer desired today (e.g., passive-aggressive behavior or anger).
Sensory Experience Memory (SEM) The "AHA moment" when a state speaks from the identity of another state or an introject and reflects on the sensory experiences made during that time. This enables a deeper level of understanding.
Vaded States (Specifications)
Vaded with Confusion: Shows fear of the unknown and often leads to obsessive rumination.
Vaded with Disappointment: Arises from the interpretation of a massive gap between desire and reality; leads to depressive states.
Vaded with Fear: Brings internal fear to the surface and restricts life freedom.
Vaded with Rejection: Creates feelings of being unlovable and often leads to perfectionism or eating disorders.
Surface vs. Underlying Resources Surface Resources are used frequently and usually share memories. Underlying Resources often originate in childhood, are rarely conscious, and frequently house Vaded States.
Vivify Specific The activation of a specific moment in the present tense to bring the exact Resource State into the conscious for therapeutic work.
